We would be happy to help you.

How do we approach the cloud? It's a question that's on many organizations' minds. As many as 70 percent of organizations have thought about cloud strategy in the past two years. A hybrid or multicloud strategy is popular. This was revealed in a research study by Enneüs, commissioned by Eurofiber, among 200 IT decision-makers. But at the same time organizations are also experiencing obstacles to the application of such a strategy. Download the full research report below.

Flexibility and scalability are important advantages for customers, but at the same time it is an art to stay in control. When the situation demands it, organizations want to be able to move their workloads quickly without incurring high costs or risks.

The cloud is moving fast

The corona crisis and the focus on working from home have caused the development of the cloud to accelerate. The survey shows that 57 percent of the organizations already use a hybrid cloud strategy; 43 percent opt for a multicloud strategy.

In a hybrid cloud strategy, components of the infrastructure run both on-premises (or co-located) and in a cloud environment. In a multicloud strategy, people use multiple public clouds. Whatever the chosen strategy, IT decision makers say the main benefits are cost savings, optimal distribution of workloads and reducing the risk of downtime.

The future is multicloud, but also on-premise

IT decision-makers list a secure connection to the cloud as the most important prerequisite for connectivity before taking steps to the cloud. Although not all data needs to go there. Almost 4 in 10 envision a future where data is both local (on-premise) and in the cloud. 90 percent expect to definitely or probably use multicloud services.
Cloud migrations generally run fairly smoothly. If any problems are experienced at all, they are in the migration process itself, dealing with different pricing models, identity management and architecture. Obstacles are particularly encountered in the application of a cloud strategy. IT-decision makers come up against a lack of knowledge in their own organization, forced choices by important application suppliers and an unclear picture of how cloud suppliers can be objectively compared.

Where is support still needed?

Support in the transition to the cloud is what organizations need most when it comes to knowledge and expertise. This can be done via software tooling, to compare clouds in real-time and determine which cloud should run in which process. But IT decision makers can also use the necessary help when it comes to network technology and security. In addition, companies are looking for specific support when it comes to the technical and organizational implications of a cloud strategy. In particular they are asking for help in setting up identity management and the IT architecture properly. Eurofiber offers a total solution, in which an organisation's complete cloud strategy is set up.
