The dynamic nature of education means it is constantly evolving, creating new programmes and adapting existing ones to reflect developments in society. Digitalisation can offer crucial support in these objectives, including through digital work-learning environments, online teaching applications and ‘bring your own device’ solutions. To tap into the full potential of these possibilities, your ICT infrastructure must be well organised and capable of adapting in parallel with these developments. Educational institution SORG (Stichting voor Onderwijs op Reformatorische Grondslag, ‘Foundation for Education on Orthodox Reformed Principles’) therefore sought a partner that could deliver a flexible private network, with stable connections and continuous availability. They found that partner in Eurofiber.
From own device to live streaming
The newly configured network affords SORG teaching staff and students a wide range of benefits. De Gooijer gives two concrete examples: “We gave all our staff their own device, and a pilot ‘bring your own device’ scheme for students is running at two locations. This is made possible by the stable and scalable bandwidth we now enjoy. Our care department can now stream live footage easily between various locations, enabling students to effortlessly follow teaching or other instruction at the bedside remotely. It is a great advantage being able to view these videos from any location, and the stable internal connections now guarantee a seamless live streaming experience.” De Gooijer says the enthusiasm among colleagues is discernible: “In my role, you don’t normally hear anything when things are running smoothly, but now suddenly people are coming up to me to tell me how efficiently everything is functioning. That is genuinely satisfying!”
