Maarssen – As of February 1, Steven Klockaerts (50) will be joining Eurofiber as CIO. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for continuing digitalization of the customer portfolio and IT infrastructure for all Eurofiber business units in the Netherlands and Belgium. His appointment is a result of Eurofiber’s ambitions for continued growth.

Steven brings with him a wealth of experience in the sector, supplemented by a wide-ranging background in IT. Steven is intensely passionate about technology, entrepreneurial to the bone, and excited about opportunities for using technology to create new business models.

New role to achieve ambitions for continued growth

In recent years, Eurofiber has seen significant expansion of its activities in the Netherlands and Belgium. In addition to owning the largest fiberoptic network in the Benelux, Eurofiber is currently building its fifth datacenter, situated in the greater Amsterdam area. Digital transformation is progressing rapidly throughout Eurofiber’s clientele and trends such as 5G, domotics and the Internet of Things are driving increasing demand for future-proof digital infrastructure. Eurofiber plays a vital role in connectivity and cloudification for its clients.

“I am glad that Steven is on board,” COO Bart Oskam confirms. Appointing Steven Klockaerts allows us to continue shaping our ambitions.
