Eurofiber establishes national presence in Belgian fiber-optic market through acquisition of B-Telecom

Summary

Maarssen/Diegem, 5 June 2015 – Eurofiber has reached an agreement with Syntigo on the acquisition of B-Telecom for a consideration of 33 million euro. The acquisition includes all Syntigo’s fiber-optic activities. The transaction is expected to close at the end of July, at which time all employees of B-Telecom will transfer to Eurofiber Belgium.

The acquisition enables Eurofiber to expand its existing fiber-optic network capacity in Belgium by 7,500 km, giving the company a nationwide network in Belgium to match its national coverage in the Netherlands. Customers and partners will benefit from this increased network coverage, and will continue to be able to use Eurofiber’s open access network which allows them the freedom to choose their own IT and telecom service providers.Alex Goldblum, CEO of Eurofiber: “We are delighted with this transaction.
